MASK REDO

Wateringcan 2 After the feedback from Neil, I redid the watering can, displaying it in a new environment, and doing more visually with the mask. Shooting both with and without flash, the eyes react really nice to it. I tried to explore more with the camera and the angles of shooting. The environment had to be a place where you could see a watering can, but a bit more grey then you're average garden. I like the contrast between the flowers and the surroundings!

3rd mask 'Get your head out of the clouds ' for my last mask I got inspired  by something from when I was I kid, I used to daydream a lot. So whenever my parents so it happening for a long period of time, they would say 'get your head out of the clouds'. So I worked it out by making actual small clouds on my head. First I experimented with laying on the bed, where I used to daydream the most.  After I experimented more with blinds as a background, to try and get a stronger composition, I think that that worked well because of the sweater I was wearing. on a few clouds, I put some of the red Veil that I had for another mask, and some yellow fabric.  Then I took it outside to see how a daydreamer interacts with the outside world, that was fun!

Tired of using models, wanted to try something different, I feel like we rely too much on facial and bodily expressions to obtain powerful photographies(?)  But the truth is, lots of details are not as appreciated. For example, on the green jumper: I sewed the label on the turtle neck, so when you wear it you can decide wether to show it or not by rolling the neck inside or out. For the outside label I understand it as an accesory, something temporary, not permanent and that you can change if you get bored of it, exactly the point of the exchange market we did in class. For the klein blue jacket just played with the position and the original label. I wanted to combine them.  Finally, I decided to hang it, reminds me of the aesthics in warmer countries with clothes hanging on every alley all around the cities. And also about my childhood, when I'd see all these women hanging the clothes during the summer (all year round actually haha) heat.  ...

# Hand maks Played with light, background and shape in order to obtain an oneiric atmosphere. I would like to express how theses pics make me feel: they give me the feeling of falling down the rabbit hole like Alice (in Wonderland) and not being able to come back to the real/normal world.* This creature climbed up from the water pond where its world is, and the path drags you: you know that if you walk it you won't be able to come back, and you don't wanna walk it but your brain and your whole body is so intrigued by exploring, experiencing and  feeling whats on the other side that your legs walk by themselves. *I've just thought that one word must be created to describe this feeling of "falling down the rabbit hole". How important is language in our lives to live them fully. If you cannot describe how you feel, are you aware of it? Just a thought I really like...
