Mask 1. The first mask, the one we talked most about, the curtain-like thing, is still at school. I have not had the chance to make more elaborate photos with it yet. I n short, I wanted a waving surface in front of the face, in the shape of the line that goes from one ear, over the nose, to the other ear. Mask 2. For this mask I asked people to write down what they were confident about in themselves. I used these ‘confidences’ in a short movie, creating (or un-creating) a mask. I came up with this because I liked the idea of the ego as a sort of mask and asked myself what would be left when we are stripped of our ego. Because our positive self-image - the things we are confident about - is closely related to our ego, I thought this would be a less abstract representation of it.
